This is some free writing which was inspired by Demi Lovato's overdose this week.<\/i><\/p>\n
Many people struggle with an addiction in their lifetime, and I think Demi Lovato is a perfect example as to how we need to overcome our struggles. While no one is perfect, we should continue to fight our battles and make sure that we are conquering our “demons”. There will be relapses, but we have to remember to continue to keep fighting. It isn't about how exactly far we fall when we relapse, it is about how we pick ourselves up afterwards and then fight for what matters most.<\/p>\n
Don't continue to think that you're alone. All of us struggle at times and we all want to use each other to keep ourselves from falling into dark ways. There isn't any weakness in asking for help; there's only strength in order to face your fears and then fight the good fight. There's power in numbers, so let others help you in fighting.<\/p>\n

As humans, we're flawed.
\nWe get some things wrong, we lie.
\nWe make promises we can't keep.
\nWe give in to temptation.
\nWe fall to the knees.<\/p>\n
Some of us pretend we're fine,
\nPutting on a show for all those to watch.
\nWe act as though we have it all together,
\nMaking our lives looks so good from the view of a camera lens,
\nBut inside, we're eating ourselves alive.<\/p>\n
Some people have cracks,
\nThat we like to tiptoe around.
\nDancing on the edge and pretending as though we don't notice the cliff.
\nWhich makes it look like we like to play with fire,
\nAs though we meant to get burned within the process<\/p>\n
And then some of us,
\nHave to dive right into the valley,
\nJumping in to the ravine to see how deep it truly is.
\nNo matter how many times you tell us not to,
\nWe need to see the bottom to live in.<\/p>\n
We will break and we will shatter.
\nWe'll lose our way
\nAnd we will continue to battle with our demons,
\nBut we'll duct tape ourselves together again.
\nWe shall recover<\/b><\/p>\n
We all have an addiction.
\nWe all need a fix.
\nWe all have a necessity that is too good to ignore.
\nWe all have that one thing that we give in to,
\nThat we fall back to every single time we feel weak.<\/p>\n
No matter how hard we attempt,
\nWe will break our own stride.
\nEven when the going gets tough,
\nAnd that we try to hide.
\nWe will break our pride and lose ourselves once again.<\/p>\n
We will disappoint those around us,
\nWhenever we give in.
\nWe will harm our own hearts,
\nKnowing we should happen to be stronger,
\nBut more importantly,
\nWe all do ourselves no good,
\nDwelling on how we could have been better for the reason that moment of weakness.<\/p>\n
But in the moments of fear,
\nWe'll find our strengths.
\nWe will rebuild.
\nWe will rise just like a phoenix,
\nWith it's ashes in the grave.<\/p>\n
Sometimes it takes the fall,
\nTo see how far you've come.
\nTo realize you aren't that person you once was.
\nTo see why you came undone and just what you need to do to mend again.<\/p>\n
In the moments of weakness,
\nPeople for assistance,
\nIn the moments of fear,
\nExpect and run.
\nIn the moments of hate,
\nFind some way to love yourself enough to find more.<\/p>\n
So from here, rise<\/i>.
\nLook at yourself in the mirror.
\nYou’re better than you was previously.
\nNo matter what that demon is screaming to you,
\nThere is a reason you fell,
\nThere is additionally a reason that you're still here.
\nSo from here, rise from this dark moment.<\/i>
\nCame from here, rise above it all. <\/i><\/p>\n
